Mission Engineering in Early Stage R&D

The purpose of the System Engineering (SE) in Early-Stage Research and Development (ESRD) Working Group (WG) is to provide an open forum for the development, application, and dissemination of SE principles, best practices, and solutions to scaling SE applications to ESRD projects. The focus of this meeting will be to explore and discuss SE work products that can set context and establish boundaries for ESRD within an organization. We will have special guests Marc Goldberg and Jamie Bestard from the U.S. DoD, Office of the Undersecretary of Defense (OUSD) Research & Engineering (R&E) Mission Integration (MI) staff who will discuss Mission Engineering (ME) and how it is used to as a framework to identify mission and technology gaps that can guide ESRD projects.
