INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL ON SYSTEMS ENGINEERING

A better world through a systems approach.

The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) is a not-for-profit membership organization founded to develop and disseminate the transdisciplinary principles and practices that enable the realization of successful systems. INCOSE is designed to connect systems engineering professionals with educational, networking, and career-advancement opportunities in the interest of developing the global community of systems engineers and systems approaches to problems. We are also focused on producing state-of-the-art work products that support and enhance this discipline’s visibility in the world.

Apr 4, 2025, 11:45 AM by Janeen Schuh

‘Demo Days’ are a new webinar style offering intended to give the Tool Vendors in the SE Laboratory the opportunity to showcase their tool(s), offer best practices, and answer any questions that you might have live.

SE Lab Demo Day 010: CATIA Stimulus: Requirements-In-the-Loop simulation for the end-to-end validation of embedded systems

DATE: Monday, 14 April 2025

TIME: 11:00am-12:00pm EST (15:00-16:00 UTC)

SE Lab Demo Day 010: CATIA Stimulus: Requirements-In-the-Loop simulation for the end-to-end validation of embedded systems

CATIA Stimulus is a pioneering solution developed by Dassault Systèmes to model, simulate and debug embedded system requirements as well as the associated test scenarios. It provides a complete functional validation framework which can be used at different stages of the development cycle.

In the early specification stages, CATIA Stimulus allows system architects to detect incorrect, missing or conflicting requirements before design begins. By making requirements right the first time, projects can save the costly iterations needed to fix errors which are often detected much later.

In the later validation stages, CATIA Stimulus allows test engineers to fully automate the validation process of the actual embedded code. Instead of building test environments from scratch, test engineers can reuse the requirements validated in the early phase as test objectives, or observers. They also reuse the test scenarios developed in parallel with the requirements to generate test vectors automatically.

Fabien Gaucher - PhD in Computer Science, Fabien Gaucher has dedicated his career to innovation in embedded systems, with particular expertise in modeling and simulation. After ten years as a research engineer in industrial automation, Fabien co-founded Argosim in 2013 as CEO, where he led the development of Stimulus, a pioneering tool for the validation of functional embedded systems requirements. Following Argosim's acquisition by Dassault Systèmes in 2019, Fabien held various leadership roles, up to VP of R&D for the CATIA System brand, before joining the sales organization to leverage his expertise in customer engagements.
